10 Fun Uses For Kool-Aid

Aside from making delicious drinks, it has been discovered that Kool-Aid and the bright array of colours it comes in are fantastic for a huge variety of fun activities. Check out our favourite top 10 ideas here.

1. Kool-Aid Lip Balm

Make great smelling fun coloured lip balms by simply mixing Kool-Aid with petroleum jelly! See I Don't Have Time For That for the tutorial. 

2. Kool-Aid Hair Dye

Add a few streaks or completely colour your whole head with temporary Kool-Aid hair dye. Kool Aid hair dye works best on bleached or naturally blonde hair but can be used on darker hair to add a subtle colour too. There's a few different methods for making Kool-Aid hair dye, some suggest using heat to help it set and others advocate mixing it with conditioner and leaving it on for longer to allow the colour to take. 3. Homemade Kool-Aid Play Dough

4. Test Your Toilet For Leaks With Kool-Aid

Remove the tank lid and pour in a dark-coloured Kool-Aid (Grape is good for this). Don't flush. If after 30 minutes the water in the toilet bowl is coloured you have a leak, otherwise you're fine, it's that simple. Unfortunately Kool-Aid can't help you mend any leaks you may find!

5. Dye Food With Kool-Aid

Kool-Aid can be used as a tasty replacement for your normal food dyes. Make your muffins blue, your cakes pink, your icing green and don't forget to top it all off with your dip dyed Kool-Aid marshmallows!

6.  Edible Kool-Aid Slime

7. Kool-Aid Wool Dye

8. Kool-Aid Feather Dye Dip 

Feathers dye just as easily with Kool-Aid as hair and wool. Many people use Kool-Aid dyes to create colourful flies for fishing. Dyed feathers can also be used in homemade dream catchers, hair braids and other feathery fun projects.

9. Kool-Aid Ice lollies

10. Edible Kool Aid Watercolour Paint

A great Kool-Aid creation for younger children who don't have paintbrush to mouth boundaries! These watercolour paints are about as simple to make as it comes. Mix 1 tbsp of water with 1 sachet of Kool-Aid...job done!
