100 Grand Bar
A 100 Grand Bar comprises chewy caramel, milk chocolate, and rice crisps - in 2 individual pieces.
The Nestle 100 Grand chocolate bar (formerly called the "$100,000 Bar") consists of a chewy caramel core, encased by a mixture of crisped rice and milk chocolate. Inside the wrapper you will find two individual pieces weighing about 21g each, and although a serving would generally consist of both pieces you are welcome to save one for later!
This bar was introduced by Nestle in 1966, and is thought to have been named to resemble TV quiz show names and their prizes. No one seems to be quite sure why the name was changed from "$100,000" to "100 Grand", though.
The 100 Grand Bar was the subject of some controversy in 2005 when a radio show host gave away "100 Grand" on air to a woman who claimed she was misled into thinking she had won a cash prize.
